The Farmer and His Sons

Once upon a time, in a quiet little village, there lived an old farmer. This farmer was a wise man and had four sons, but oh my, they were always fighting! They argued over the silliest things, like who would get the biggest piece of pie or who could climb the tallest tree. It seemed like they just couldn't get along.

Their father, the old farmer, was worried about their constant quarrels. He knew that if they didn't learn to work together, their future would be filled with trouble. So, he decided it was time to teach them an important lesson.

One sunny day, when the birds were singing and the sky was clear, the old farmer fell sick. He knew he needed to bring his sons closer together before he got even sicker. So, he called his four sons to his bedside and said, "My dear sons, I want to show you something important. Each of you, please go and bring me a few sticks."

The four sons rushed outside, gathered sticks, and brought them back to their father. The farmer then asked his eldest son to tie the sticks together into a bundle. Once the bundle was ready, he handed it to his sons and said, "Now, each of you, try your best to break this bundle."

The four sons took turns trying to break the bundle of sticks, but no matter how hard they pushed or pulled, they couldn't do it. The bundle was strong and unbreakable. The sons were surprised by how difficult it was.

The old farmer then untied the bundle and gave each of his sons one stick. He said, "Now, try to break these sticks one by one." To their amazement, each son easily snapped their single stick in half.

The wise farmer smiled and said, "You see, my dear sons, when you are together, when you stand united like those sticks in the bundle, you are strong and unbreakable. But when you quarrel and fight among yourselves, you become as fragile as a single stick. Remember, if you stick together, no one can defeat you, but if you break apart, you will be easily overcome."

The sons looked at each other, realizing the truth in their father's words. From that day on, they decided to put aside their differences and work together as a team. They learned that unity was their greatest strength, and they lived happily ever after, side by side, as the best of friends.

Moral of the story:  Unity is Strength.
