The Boy Who Cried Wolf

Once upon a time in a quiet village, there lived a little boy tasked with watching over the village's fluffy white sheep. His name was Timmy, and he often felt very bored. He wished for something exciting to happen.

One sunny day, mischievous Timmy had an idea. He decided to trick the villagers into thinking there was a wolf after their sheep. He cried out loudly, "Wolf! Wolf!" The villagers rushed to the rescue, but there was no wolf. Timmy giggled.

The villagers scolded him, "Don't lie, Timmy! It's not right to trick us." But, a few days later, he couldn't resist trying it again. "Wolf! Wolf!" he cried. Once more, the villagers came running, only to discover Timmy's fib.

Then, one evening, as the sun painted the sky with beautiful colors, Timmy saw a real wolf sneaking toward the sheep. This time, he cried out for help with all his might, "Wolf! Wolf!" But the villagers thought he was joking once again and stayed in their homes.

When the sun had set, the villagers went to find Timmy, and their sheep were gone. Timmy sat there, tears in his eyes. He told them about the real wolf.

An old man came forward and said, "Remember, Timmy, nobody will believe a liar, even when they tell the truth."

And from that day on, Timmy learned that honesty is the best policy, and he never told another lie.

Moral: Honesty is the Best Policy
